Position: Senior Construction Project Manager / VRE
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for providing senior-level leadership for utility-scale renewable energy projects from early-stage development through commercial operation. This position oversees project planning, permitting, engineering coordination, procurement, construction oversight, budgeting, scheduling, stakeholder management, and project execution to ensure successful delivery of renewable energy assets.

The Senior Project Manager serves as the primary point of coordination among internal teams, landowners, consultants, utilities, contractors, regulatory agencies, and other key stakeholders. This role is responsible for driving project objectives related to safety, schedule, budget, quality, regulatory compliance, and project performance while supporting the continued growth of Vulcan Renewable Energy's development portfolio. This position may require travel up to 30-40% of the time.

** Responsibilities:*
* + Lead renewable energy projects through all phases of development, pre-construction, construction, commissioning, and project closeout.

+ Establish project execution strategies and ensure alignment with company goals related to schedule, budget, quality, safety, and project performance.

+ Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, cash flow forecasts, and key milestone tracking throughout the project lifecycle.

+ Coordinate cross-functional teams including development, engineering, environmental, interconnection, real estate, legal, finance, and construction partners.

+ Manage relationships with trade partners, engineering consultants, equipment suppliers, utilities, permitting agencies, and other external stakeholders.

+ Oversee project permitting activities and ensure compliance with all local, state, federal, environmental, and utility requirements.

+ Support utility interconnection activities, including coordination with transmission providers, consultants, and utility representatives.

+ Lead project risk identification, mitigation planning, and issue resolution to ensure successful project execution.

+ Manage project contracts, budgets, change management processes, and consultant agreements while protecting company interests and minimizing risk.

+ Monitor project performance and provide accurate reporting on budget, schedule, development milestones, construction progress, and key project risks.

+ Review engineering deliverables, site layouts, technical studies, and construction documentation to ensure alignment with project objectives.

+ Coordinate procurement activities and support major equipment purchases including solar modules, battery energy storage systems, inverters, transformers, and balance-of-plant equipment.

+ Facilitate stakeholder engagement efforts with developers, building owners, local communities, economic development organizations, utilities, and regulatory agencies.

+ Support project financing and due diligence activities by coordinating technical, commercial, and development-related information required by lenders, investors, and strategic partners.

+ Mentor and support other team members while promoting best practices and continuous improvement.

+ Assist with business development efforts by evaluating new project opportunities, supporting acquisitions, and participating in strategic growth initiatives.

+ Maintain a strong understanding of renewable energy industry trends, market conditions, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies.

** Requirements:*
* + Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, or a related field required.

+ 8-12 years of project management experience with increasing leadership responsibility in renewable energy, power generation, infrastructure, utility, industrial, or large-scale construction projects.

+ Demonstrated experience managing utility-scale solar, battery energy storage (BESS), transmission, power generation, or other energy-related projects preferred.

+ Strong understanding of renewable energy development, permitting, engineering, procurement, construction, and project finance processes.

+ Experience managing project budgets, schedules, contracts, risk assessments, and stakeholder relationships.

+ Knowledge of utility interconnection processes, environmental permitting, and regulatory requirements preferred.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Procore, Smartsheet, or similar project management software.

+ Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.

+ Experience working with trade partners, utility providers, building owners, and public agencies preferred.

+ Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

+ Valid Driver's License required
