- Ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulations, permits, and company policies.
- Conduct environmental inspections, audits, and assessments of facilities and operations.
- Monitor and maintain compliance programs related to air emissions, wastewater, stormwater, hazardous waste, recycling, and chemical management.
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports and permit applications as required by environmental agencies.
- Investigate environmental incidents, spills, and non-compliance issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate waste management activities, including hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal.
- Maintain environmental records, documentation, and compliance databases.
- Support sustainability initiatives, including waste reduction, energy conservation, and resource management programs.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, maintenance, and EHS teams to improve environmental performance.
- Conduct employee training on environmental policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with environmental due diligence, environmental impact assessments, and risk evaluations.
- Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies, consultants, and external auditors.
- Participate in emergency response planning and environmental incident response activities
Education/Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Occupational Health, Sustainability, or a related field required.
• 2-5 years of environmental compliance, environmental management, or EHS experience preferred.
• Experience with in manufacturing, industrial, construction, utilities, government, or consulting environments preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and applicable state environmental regulations.
• Understanding of environmental permitting and compliance requirements.
• Ability to interpret environmental regulations and implement compliance programs.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and investigative skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and environmental management software.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Preferred Certifications
• Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
• Certified Environmental and Safety Compliance Officer (CESCO)
• Registered Environmental Manager (REM)
• OSHA Training Certifications (30-Hour Preferred)
Physical Requirements
• Ability to work in office, laboratory, manufacturing, construction, or outdoor environments.
• Frequent walking, standing, climbing stairs, and conducting site inspections.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
• Exposure to industrial environments, outdoor weather conditions, and occasionally hazardous materials.
• May require occasional after-hours support for environmental incidents, inspections, or audits.
