Job Title
Duration: 6+ months contract with possible extension
Key Responsibilities- Develop, modify, and release 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings using Creo.
- Create and maintain CN-controlled designs and documentation for umbilical systems, retraction/release mechanisms, routing hardware, and interface components.
- Define and document mechanical, electrical, and fluid interfaces between vehicles, payloads, ground support equipment, and test systems.
- Design and release engineering models and drawings for ground testing equipment, including fixtures, stands, and instrumentation hardware.
- Develop launch pad structures, mechanical systems, integrated infrastructure, and umbilical mate simulator components.
- Create transportation and handling tooling designs, including lifting fixtures, transport frames, handling rings, and associated support equipment.
- Generate detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.5 (GD&T) standards.
- Perform model checks, design reviews, and configuration-controlled release activities to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
- Maintain product data and support configuration management through engineering change and release processes.
- Collaborate with design engineers, stress analysts, and cross-functional teams to incorporate design updates and analysis-driven changes.
- Prepare interface documentation, fluid line schematics, connector pinouts, and related technical documentation.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in Creo (Pro/ENGINEER) for 3D modeling, assembly design, and drawing creation.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and ASME Y14.5 drafting standards.
- Experience with configuration management and engineering change/release processes.
- Ability to interpret engineering requirements and develop detailed technical documentation.
- Experience with NASA MSFC modeling conventions and engineering standards.
- Familiarity with fluid line schematics, electrical connector pinouts, and interface documentation.
- Experience designing ground support equipment, launch pad structures, or transportation and handling tooling.
- Experience with data exchange and model translation between organizations.
