Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized professional staffing and recruiting firm that is looking for an experienced Drafter to fill a one-year assignment in the Birmingham, AL area. This position may require some bending, lifting, climbing, prolonged sitting, prolonged walking, walking on gravel or crawling when necessary. Estimated start date: 08/31/2026. Estimated duration of job assignment: 08/31/2027.

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of drafting experience
• An associate's degree in drafting and design is preferred

Responsibilities:

• CAD drafting of transmission line centerline right-of-way, boundary, topographic, and land tie surveys
• Interpreting and writing "metes and bounds" or "centerline" descriptions for assigned projects
• Supporting the survey field crews and office personnel by researching existing survey and real estate records, contacting local and state agencies for right-of-way information, and transmitting completed projects
