About this Role

Quanta Power Solutions is seeking an experienced Project Engineer II to support the planning, design, execution, and delivery of power generation and energy infrastructure projects. This role serves as a senior technical and project coordination resource, working closely with engineering, procurement, construction, clients, and project stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient, and successful project execution.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical leadership capabilities, extensive project execution experience, and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams throughout all phases of project development and delivery.

What You'll Do
  • Coordinate engineering activities across multiple disciplines throughout the project lifecycle, from conceptual design through commissioning and closeout.
  • Support project planning, permitting, scheduling, execution, and project controls for power generation and energy infrastructure projects.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, schedules, risks, and deliverables while proactively identifying and resolving project challenges.
  • Interface with clients, vendors, contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Review engineering deliverables for completeness, quality, constructability, and compliance with project requirements, codes, and industry standards.
  • Support procurement activities including technical bid evaluations, vendor coordination, equipment selection, and specification development.
  • Provide construction-phase support including responding to RFIs, resolving field issues, reviewing contractor submittals, and managing project changes.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, technical reports, meeting minutes, and project status updates.
  • Support project managers with forecasting, resource planning, scope management, and schedule development.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Mentor junior engineers and project team members while promoting engineering excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Travel to project sites, client locations, field offices, and project meetings as required.
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 10-15+ years of experience in project engineering, project management, engineering design, construction support, or project execution roles.
  • Experience supporting EPC, industrial, utility, energy, infrastructure, or power generation projects.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams and project stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of project execution processes including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup activities.
  • Experience managing project schedules, budgets, risks, and technical deliverables.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel periodically to project sites and client locations.
Preferred
  • Experience with power generation facilities, combined-cycle plants, simple-cycle plants, renewable energy projects, substations, transmission systems, or grid modernization projects.
  • Experience supporting large-scale, mission-critical projects such as power plants, utility infrastructure, data centers, manufacturing facilities, or industrial process facilities.
