We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our client's team in Birmingham, Alabama. This contract-to-permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to lead and oversee financial operations within the stone, glass, and concrete manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in fixed asset accounting and general ledger management while demonstrating leadership capabilities to guide a team effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee month-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, guaranteeing compliance with accounting standards.
- Prepare and review journal entries to support accurate and efficient financial transactions.
- Conduct financial statement audits, providing necessary documentation and resolving discrepancies.
- Supervise fixed asset accounting, including tracking, depreciation, and reporting.
- Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals to achieve departmental goals.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless financial integration and reporting.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies in all accounting practices.
Requirements - Proven experience in fixed asset accounting and general ledger management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
- Proficiency in month-end close processes and financial statement preparation.
- Strong knowledge of account reconciliation and journal entry processes.
- Familiarity with conducting and supporting financial audits.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and present actionable insights.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification is a plus.
