Financial Associate (Temp) (T233133) Description
Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, provides assistance, often of a complex technical and clerical nature, to the Financial/Business Officer for a department or unit. Works closely with the Financial/Business Officer on such matters as monitoring sizeable budgets, providing projections and costing, preparing grants and contracts, maintenance of financial databases and the production of a wide array of financial reports.
Reconciles accounts. Sets up financial tracking systems. Interfaces with purchasing department and vendors in tracking orders and payment requisitions and researching problems. Operates with a high degree of independence due to extensive knowledge of financial processes, policies, and regulations that dictate the financial operation of the department or unit. May supervise staff. May have some human resources related responsibilities. May interface with external institutions to establish grants and contracts.

- Reconcile general ledger accounts Assist with preparation of FY27 budget.
- Maintain financial database(s) Prepare deposits and deliver to Financial Operations
- Reconcile grant accounts liaise with Principal Investigators, Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP), and Grants and Contracts Accounting (GCA) on grant/contract related matters
- Research account activity, submit salary reclasses and journal entries as needed Assist business officers in analyzing accounts and billing service center and or recharge accounts.
- Assist business officers, grants administrator and Director with other financial-related tasks as needed .
- Prepare financial reports in Excel for Director.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field and one (1) year of related experience required. Or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
