Position: Supervisor, Operations (Birmingham, AL)

Supervisor, Operations

Lewis James Professional is a woman‑owned staff augmentation, project consulting and direct hire search and placement firm. We are currently seeking a Supervisor, Operations for a contract-to-hire opportunity with a financial services client.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise a team of 3–4 operations professionals across loan, deposit, and treasury functions
  • Build and implement operational workflows, SOPs, and documentation for the new Silver Lake system
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for leadership and help drive execution of the Birmingham operations strategy
  • Oversee daily operations including loan processing/servicing, deposit operations, and treasury services (ACH, wires, Positive Pay, lockbox)
  • Act as a subject matter expert during system implementation and future conversion from Fiserv Premier
  • Ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency across all functions
  • Identify gaps and drive process improvements and scalable infrastructure
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members
Qualifications
  • 7–10+ years of experience in banking operations (loan, deposit, or treasury)
  • Prior experience in a lead or supervisory role within bank operations
  • Hands‑on experience with core banking systems (Jack Henry Silver Lake strongly preferred; Fiserv/FIS or similar acceptable)
  • Strong knowledge of loan lifecycle, deposit operations, and/or treasury services (ACH, wires, Positive Pay, lockbox)
  • Proven ability to build processes, workflows, and documentation from scratch
  • Experience supporting system implementations, conversions, or high‑growth environments
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
