Senior Tax Manager

About the Role

BDO’s Business Tax practice focuses on providing expert tax compliance and advisory services to scale‑ups, private businesses, and PE‑backed groups across the UK and internationally. The role offers exposure to high‑profile M&A activity and the chance to influence client outcomes.

• Advise clients on high‑profile M&A transactions, including tax structuring and due diligence.
• Ensure client tax compliance affairs are in order, overseeing Corporation Tax compliance.
• Manage a portfolio of clients, including take‑on, engagement, billings, and cash collection.
• Identify opportunities to improve recoveries and deliver business value to clients.
• Collaborate with peers, directors, and partners to provide comprehensive client service.
• Support and develop new business opportunities with existing clients and prospects.

• In‑depth, up‑to‑date knowledge of taxation with experience advising entrepreneurs, owner‑managed businesses, and PE‑backed groups.
• Experience advising on M&A transactions (tax structuring and/or due diligence, buy and sell‑side).
• Experience managing a client portfolio, including control of client take‑on, engagement, billings, and improvement of recoveries, coupled with cash collection.
• Ability to provide Corporation Tax compliance and advisory services to a wide range of clients using shared‑service resources or technology tools.
• Active interest in developing the team, both technically and commercially, through effective delegation and acting as a role model.
• Understanding of potential risks to the firm in relation to the firm’s quality control procedures.
• Experience leading complex projects and dealing with complex tax issues.
• Educated to degree level and/or CTA and/or ACA qualified or equivalent.
