Senior Cost Analyst (Construction / Energy Projects)
We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Analyst to support complex construction and energy-related projects. This role will play a critical part in managing financial performance across the full project lifecycle from initial scoping through completion ensuring accurate forecasting, cost tracking, and reporting.
This position is ideal for a professional with a strong background in construction, engineering, or project-based financial analysis, who thrives in dynamic environments and can translate technical data into actionable business insights.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and analyze project financials across the full lifecycle (cradle-to-grave)
- Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and cost projections
- Track project performance against financial targets and timelines
- Provide clear, data-driven insights on cost trends, risks, and future projections
- Partner with project teams to gather data and validate assumptions
- Support leadership with reporting and visibility into overall project health
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and standardization, particularly in financial tracking and reporting workflows
- Assist in building scalable processes and best practices for cost analysis across projects
- 715+ years of experience in cost analysis, financial analysis, or project controls
- Demonstrated experience supporting construction, engineering, or capital projects
- Strong understanding of project financials, forecasting, and budgeting
- Proficiency with Excel and financial modeling
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field
- Ability to analyze complex data and communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working in energy, utilities, or infrastructure environments
- Exposure to tools such as Oracle or other ERP systems
- Background in or familiarity with procurement processes and construction project life cycles
- Experience helping to establish or improve financial processes and reporting frameworks
- Ability to mentor or guide junior team members
- Hybrid schedule: typically 4 days onsite, 1 day remote
- Primarily office-based role with minimal field or site requirements
- Collaborative environment with cross-functional teams supporting project delivery
- This role focuses heavily on cost visibility, forecasting accuracy, and financial insight generation
