Summary

In our part-time tax role, you will communicate with clients to understand their tax situations and provide assistance with tax compliance and planning. The position focuses on managing individual and trust tax clients, meeting deadlines, and delivering exceptional client service throughout the year.

Essential Functions
  • Adhere to professional ethics of the firm and AICPA.
  • Adhere to firm policy regarding client confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate a professional interest in providing clients with high‑quality services by performing “above and beyond the call of duty” as necessary.
  • Assist in handling routine questions and audits from federal or state agencies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, proactively managing relationships and addressing client needs.
  • Provide clients with timely, top‑quality service by instilling a service commitment in associates and seniors and by providing adequate direct supervision at all stages of engagement.
  • Advising clients on tax implications of business objectives and recommending alternative courses of action.
  • Successfully manage the planning, administration, and conclusion of client engagements.
  • Perform primary review of tax returns and written tax advice as requested.
  • Review tax law developments and determine applicability to clients.
  • Recognize potential technical tax issues and work with partners, client‑service team members, and firm experts to resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Identify and alert partners to potential high‑risk engagement issues.
  • Meet chargeable hour goals.
  • Foster a team environment within the department and firm.
  • Act as a mentor and role model for staff.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting/Finance or another relevant field.
  • CPA license required.
  • Five to seven years of public accounting experience preferred.
  • Significant experience preparing and reviewing individual and trust tax returns.
  • Strong client‑relationship management skills with the ability to communicate directly with clients and understand their needs.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced, team environment.
  • Must be able to meet assigned deadlines in a fast‑paced, team environment.
