Position Overview
Lead Teller – Retail Banking (Birmingham, AL). Responsible for coaching, mentoring, and leading tellers to deliver a unique customer experience, improve financial wellbeing, increase loyalty, and increase share of wallet.
Responsibilities- Coach, mentor, and lead tellers—model best practices for customer interaction, financial solutions, and product positioning.
- Process a variety of customer interactions, educate customers on alternatives and options, and identify banking opportunities, making appropriate referrals to branch staff.
- Conduct lobby engagement activities to connect with customers and promote PNC products that meet their needs.
- Assist the Branch Manager with performance management and new‑hire selection processes.
- Maintain teller and branch daily operations to ensure accurate and efficient transaction handling.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures, demonstrate sound judgment within established limits, and support risk management initiatives.
- 1+ year(s) of related retail banking or customer service experience; a high school diploma or GED is minimum, but a university/college degree is not required.
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities in banking, client loyalty, customer experience, identifying opportunities, leveraging technology, proactive sales, accuracy, attention to detail, coaching, fraud detection and prevention, managing multiple priorities, matrix management, problem solving, and customer needs understanding.
- Preferred: strong communication skills, leadership, and demonstrable coaching/mentoring experience.
- Education and certifications:
No degree or certification required.
