Credit Risk Review Advisor Senior - Commercial Lending

Position Overview

At PNC, as a Credit Risk Review Advisor Senior within PNC’s Independent Risk Management organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA;
Cleveland, OH;
Philadelphia, PA;
Birmingham, AL;
Charlotte, NC;
Wilmington, DE; or Raleigh, NC. The primary objective is to conduct timely and independent assessments of PNC’s credit exposures and credit risk.

• Execute file review assessments on complex credit and credit‑related transactions, including credit facility structures and underwriting processes.
• Understand inherent risk and materiality of risk for credit transactions.
• Validate scorecard risk ratings and borrower credit administration.
• Ensure understanding of portfolio issues, trends, and root causes to manage credit portfolios effectively.
• Independently complete work papers, issue tracking, and supporting documentation, and follow up on exam findings with business leaders.
• Act as a Second Level Reviewer.
• Effectively communicate credit risk review objectives, outcomes, and recommendations for issue remediation.
• Analyze risk in assigned credit portfolios by reviewing relevant reporting and assessing trends.
• Provide expert analytical insight and identify risk concentrations, systemic trends, or issues.
• Participate in continuous monitoring for assigned portfolios.
• Oversee file review activities of reviewers as Reviewer in Charge for assigned business segments.
• Assess file review results and findings to determine final ratings and draft review reports.
• Serve as an expert resource to the team.
• Demonstrate expert knowledge of the credit cycle and economic indicators’ impact on key metrics.
• Leverage industry/economic research tools into the review.

• Robust credit knowledge and strong experience in Commercial credit extension and management.
• 8+ years of Credit Risk/Credit Underwriting, specifically dealing with larger, more complex Commercial & Industrial, CRE, Corporate Banking, Leverage Lending, Middle Market, etc.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to handle difficult conversations with stakeholders.

• University or college degree required; higher education such as a Master’s or PhD desirable.
• Industry relevant experience typically 8+ years; specific certifications often required.
• In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job‑specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
