Controller (FP&A focus

The Controller is responsible for leading the company's accounting operations while serving as a strategic financial partner to executive leadership. This individual will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and oversee all day-to-day accounting activities. In addition, the Controller will leverage a strong FP&A background to provide financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and business insights that support strategic decision-making and long-term growth.

• Lead all daily accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and cash management.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Maintain compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls and financial processes.
• Coordinate annual audits, tax filings, and interactions with external auditors and advisors.
• Manage treasury activities, banking relationships, and cash flow reporting.
• Oversee accounting staff, providing leadership, coaching, and professional development.
• Lead the annual budgeting and long-range planning process.
• Develop rolling forecasts and provide proactive analysis of business performance.
• Build financial models to evaluate business initiatives, capital investments, pricing strategies, and operational improvements.
• Analyze financial results against budget and forecast, identifying key drivers and recommending corrective actions.
• Develop executive dashboards and KPI reporting to improve organizational visibility and decision-making.
• Partner with department leaders to improve financial accountability across the organization.
• Support strategic initiatives through financial analysis, scenario modeling, and business case development.

• Serve as a trusted financial advisor to the CFO, CEO, and executive leadership team.
• Identify opportunities to improve profitability, operational efficiency, and working capital.
• Translate financial data into meaningful business insights that influence strategic decisions.
• Drive continuous improvement within finance through process automation and technology enhancements.
• Foster collaboration between accounting, operations, sales, and executive leadership.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Progressive accounting and finance experience, including Controller, Assistant Controller, FP&A Manager, Finance Director, or similar leadership roles.
• Demonstrated experience leading both accounting operations and financial planning & analysis.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
• Advanced Excel skills with experience using ERP and financial reporting systems.
• Proven ability to communicate financial information to both finance and non-finance leaders.
• Experience leading teams and developing finance professionals.

• Manufacturing, distribution, or industrial industry experience preferred.
• Experience supporting private equity-backed organizations or high-growth businesses is a plus.
• Experience implementing ERP systems, business intelligence tools, or financial automation initiatives.
