Job HighlightsUAB Medicine is excited to introduce a new travel alternative program (TAP), which offers experienced radiologic technologists a unique and innovative temporary contract opportunity in Birmingham. This program empowers radiologic technologists to sharpen their skills, use the latest equipment and procedures, and expand their knowledge. This role is available at the main UAB Hospital – a Level I Trauma Center and the No.
1 hospital in Alabama as ranked by U.S. News & World Report.
Under the direction of a radiologist and the CT supervisor, to perform CT procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. To perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to render prescribed CT procedures.
Initial contract length is 12 weeks with optional renewal for duration of 8-12 weeks.
Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the area approved for assignment or 12 months of UAB Medicine experience. Graduate from an accredited School of Radiology required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently registered as a Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) (R) with ARRT. Candidate will have one (1) year from hire date to become registered in Computed Tomography (CT) from ARRT.
Or certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) required.
