LHH is partnering with a confidential behavioral health organization to hire a Provider Relations Specialist / Network Development Specialist in Birmingham, AL. This role works closely with executive leadership and plays a critical part in the ongoing development, expansion, and management of a PPO provider network within a behavioral health environment.
This is a direct-hire, fully onsite opportunity with an organization that values collaboration, relationship-building, and mission-driven work.
Position Overview- Employment Type: Direct Hire
- Location: Birmingham, AL (100% onsite)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Salary: $60,000–$64,000 base + annual bonus

- Develop, expand, and maintain a PPO provider network, including provider identification, outreach, solicitation, and rate negotiation
- Coordinate provider rate negotiations in partnership with executive leadership, including Provider Relations and Finance
- Conduct and support individual and regional provider orientations and training sessions
- Serve as a primary liaison between treatment providers, internal clinical teams, clients, and other stakeholders; resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
- Support the Clinical Division with case-specific provider coordination and problem-solving as needed
- Assist with proposal development and provide support related to current and prospective client contracts
- Maintain and support corporate, departmental, and quality assurance policies and procedures; recommend updates to provider contracts and fee schedules
- Conduct market research related to provider rates, competitors, regional trends, and industry changes; prepare reports and make strategic recommendations
- Participate in ongoing marketing, provider relations initiatives, special projects, and public relations efforts
- Perform additional duties and attend meetings as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration or a related field
- 2–3+ years of experience in provider relations, provider recruitment, or provider network development (preferably in a PPO, HMO, or managed care environment)
- Exposure to behavioral health or mental health services strongly preferred
- Experience with provider rate negotiations, fiscal considerations, and contract terms
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to groups
- Comfortable with extensive phone outreach and relationship-based work
- Highly organized, self-motivated, goal-oriented, and customer-service driven
- Proficiency with standard computer applications and internet-based tools
- Ability to travel locally as needed; valid driver’s license required
