Work schedule will be Full-time on the Evening Shift, M-F;
Every other Weekend.
The Emergency Department Patient Access Representative serves as the first point of contact for patients and families arriving at the emergency department. This position is responsible for accurately collecting and verifying patient identity, demographics and insurance information during bedside registration, ensuring that all required procedures are followed for billing and admissions. The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
Otherinformation:
- Experience/knowledge of insurance verification and medical terminology. Preference knowledge/experience with Epic system, including at least one year of posting cash, credit, or check payments through Epic.
- Experience with patient registration applications is also preferred. Strong customer service skills and ability to work independently are essential.

Bachelors of Science or Arts in Business Administration

- Nonessential: 0 Year job experience as Staff Level with specialization in the field of Care Admin - Registration
Children’s of Alabama Level I Trauma Center and Emergency Department on the Main Downtown Campus. Responsible for performing multiple customer‑focused emergency department registration workflows, co‑pay collection, account verification and updates. Responsible for working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical setting. Must be flexible and willing to work in different physical locations and roles as needed to meet customer needs.
