Position Overview

To function as a capable specialist for analysis, design and implementation to influence appropriate change using technology resources within a healthcare environment. Leverage clinical and technical experience to support the life cycle of healthcare technology implementations that achieve customer goals.

Pay Range

$67,070 - $108,990 per year.

Job Description

Responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing healthcare technologies, working closely with clinical and technical stakeholders to ensure successful deployment and integration of systems. Engage in system life cycle activities, support healthcare technology implementations, coordinate EMR downtime events, and maintain data accuracy.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and 4+ years of direct patient care.
  • 4+ years of electronic medical record experience.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by Alabama Board of Nursing required.
  • One year UAB experience preferred.
  • Experience with Cerner applications preferred.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Work experience may NOT substitute for educational requirement.
Preferred Skills
Healthcare Knowledge
  • Strong familiarity with clinical workflows and healthcare operations.
  • Understanding of regulatory standards such as HIPAA and HITECH.
  • Experience with EMR downtime documentation tools and reconciliation processes.
Technical Proficiency
  • Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, e.g., Epic, Cerner.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint).
Analytical & Problem‑Solving Skills
  • Ability to coordinate and manage planned and unplanned EMR downtime events.
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Skilled in managing complex scenarios without overlooking critical details.
Project Management & Communication
  • Proven ability to manage timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective collaborator across clinical, technical, and administrative teams.
Adaptability
  • Able to adjust plans quickly based on feedback or unforeseen challenges.
  • Comfortable operating in fast‑paced, evolving environments.
  • Capable of balancing competing priorities and managing expectations.
