Heart South is seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Referral Coordinator I to support patients, providers, and clinical teams by managing referrals, authorizations, and insurance verification. This role is essential in ensuring patients receive timely access to specialty care and diagnostic services.

  • Process internal and external referrals and authorizations
  • Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorizations
  • Coordinate patient appointments and follow-up care
  • Update patient information in the EHR system
  • Communicate with providers, patients, and insurance companies
  • Support quality patient care through exceptional customer service
Qualifications

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Medical terminology knowledge preferred
  • Two years of related healthcare or medical office experience preferred
  • Referral, authorization, or insurance verification experience preferred
  • Strong computer, communication, and organizational skills
