Activities Assistant
South Haven Health & Rehabilitation is looking for an enthusiastic Activities Assistant to help make our residents' days a little brighter.
This isn't a desk job. You'll help plan activities, lead games and events, visit residents one-on-one, decorate for special occasions, celebrate birthdays and holidays, and find creative ways to keep residents active, engaged, and connected.

What You'll Do
• Assist the Activities Director with daily activities, programs, and special events
• Lead and participate in group activities, games, crafts, celebrations, and social events
• Help residents get to and from activities
• Provide one-on-one activities for residents who prefer or need to remain in their rooms
• Encourage residents to participate based on their interests and abilities
• Help prepare activity calendars, bulletin boards, decorations, and event materials
• Record resident participation and responses to activities
• Deliver resident mail and assist residents when needed
• Help coordinate volunteers and community activities
• Communicate resident needs or changes to the appropriate team members
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, visitors, and coworkers
• Protect resident dignity, privacy, rights, and confidentiality
• Help create a positive, welcoming environment throughout the facility
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is:
Friendly, outgoing, and positive
Creative and willing to bring new ideas
Patient and compassionate with older adults
A team player who can also work independently
Comfortable leading activities and interacting with groups
Comfortable with basic computer and keyboard functions
Organized and dependable
A strong communicator
Previous experience working with elderly or disabled individuals is preferred.
Must be at least 18 years old and able to perform the essential physical functions of the position, including walking, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, and assisting with activity-related tasks.
