Banquet Captain

Marriott is seeking a Banquet Captain to lead Food & Beverage Operations for banquets and group events. The Banquet Captain coordinates setup, service, and breakdown for meetings, weddings, and special functions, ensuring Marriott's brand standards and hospitality are consistently met. Responsibilities include supervising banquet servers and bartenders, managing timelines and event details, liaising with culinary, sales, and conference services, and responding to guest needs in real time.

The role supports a people-first culture, coaching associates, promoting teamwork, and maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient banquet environment while delivering memorable guest experiences.

Responsibilities

• Supervise banquet servers and bartenders during events
• Coordinate event setup, service, and breakdown per BEOs and brand standards
• Serve as primary contact for on-site client and guests during functions
• Communicate event details with culinary, sales, and conference services teams
• Ensure accurate and timely room setup, audio-visual coordination, and seating plans
• Monitor food and beverage quality, presentation, and service flow
• Train, coach, and schedule banquet staff to support service excellence
• Manage side work, inventory of banquet equipment, and cleanliness of function areas
• Handle guest requests and resolve service issues promptly and professionally
• Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations
