Hotel Management, Event Management & Planning
High Dive is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead the daily operations of one of Birmingham’s most distinctive hospitality and entertainment concepts.
Designed around an acoustically engineered, high-fidelity listening experience, High Dive brings together food, beverage, live music, DJ programming, and outdoor entertainment.
The broader campus includes a 600-person standing-capacity amphitheater, national acts, recurring jazz and DJ programming, food trucks, retail tenants, and additional guest experiences.
This is an opportunity for a confident, hands-on hospitality leader to help shape a growing concept while delivering an exceptional experience for every guest and team member.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the General Manager will oversee the full operation and serve as the connection between senior leadership and the operating team.
The GM will directly lead approximately four managers and shift leaders—including the Beverage Manager and Kitchen Manager—who collectively oversee a team of approximately 25 employees.
This is a highly visible role for a leader who thrives on the floor, sets a clear plan for every shift, and knows how to align people, labor, and resources with the needs of the business.
What You’ll Do
- Own daily operations across food, beverage, dining room service, outdoor activity, and event programming
- Lead, develop, and hold accountable the Beverage Manager, Kitchen Manager, shift leaders, and broader operating team
- Build schedules based on forecasted business, labor budgets, and sales-per-labor-hour expectations
- Manage controllable costs, including food, beverage, supplies, waste, and labor
- Monitor operational KPIs and provide consistent reporting to leadership
- Set a clear plan for each shift and position team members according to anticipated and real-time business needs
- Drive consistent execution of established culinary, hospitality, safety, and operational systems
- Maintain a strong floor presence and step into the areas where leadership is most needed
- Build a culture of communication, accountability, development, retention, and genuine hospitality
- Partner with leadership to refine High Dive’s operating systems and standards as the concept continues to grow
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in restaurant, bar, or hospitality operations
- 5+ years of experience as a General Manager
- Direct accountability for a P&L or key controllable costs, including food, beverage, and labor
- Experience leading a team of 15 or more employees, including hourly team members
- Direct ownership of scheduling, labor planning, and labor cost management
- Familiarity with inventory, invoicing, and scheduling systems
- Strong operational leadership and the ability to set direction, maintain accountability, and lead visibly during service
- Availability to work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, including evenings
Experience leading a live music, event-driven, or high-volume weekend hospitality concept is especially valuable.
Schedule
- Wednesday through Sunday;
High Dive is closed Monday and Tuesday - Regular evening and weekend availability required
The General Manager will move fluidly between the dining room, bar, kitchen, outdoor areas, and events based on the needs of the business.
If you are an experienced hospitality leader who enjoys building strong teams, improving operations, and creating memorable guest experiences in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.
