Salary Range: $55,000 – $65,000 annually + Bonus Potential

Ascent Hospitality is seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and results-driven Director of Finance to join our new-opening 350-room AC Hotel & Element Hotel in Birmingham, AL.

This is an exciting opportunity to help establish and lead the hotel's financial operations from the ground up
. You will partner closely with the General Manager and leadership team to ensure strong financial performance, accurate reporting, effective controls, and sound business decisions.

• Lead the hotel's day-to-day finance and accounting operations.
• Establish effective financial processes, controls, and procedures for the new hotel opening.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
• Partner with the General Manager and department leaders to monitor revenue, expenses, labor, and overall hotel performance.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decisions and profitability.
• Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, cash management, and general ledger activities.
• Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Monitor hotel budgets and identify opportunities to improve financial performance and control costs.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
• Support audits and maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
• Train and support department leaders on financial procedures, reporting, and budget accountability.

• Previous hotel finance, hospitality accounting, or Director of Finance experience preferred.
• Experience in a full-service or high-volume hotel environment is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of hotel accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and hotel accounting/financial systems.
• Ability to partner effectively with General Managers, department leaders, ownership, and corporate teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality, Business, or a related field preferred.
