Overview
One of TEKsystems' clients, a company headquartered in Birmingham with locations across the country, is looking for a Service Desk Technician. The IT Service Desk is the first line of support for the company's internal end users. Service Desk Specialists are responsible for escalations from technicians to resolution or elevating to Tier 3 support. Additional responsibilities include support and adoption of Microsoft 365 offerings.
The candidates are expected to service over 1600 employees, dozens of applications, and thousands of endpoints.
- Provide first and second level IT service support; escalate as needed to Tier 3.
- Support and adopt Microsoft 365 offerings; manage user accounts, access, and password-related issues.
- Handle remote technical support via telephone in a service/call center environment; multitask across tickets, chats, and calls.
- Install/configure/troubleshoot laptops/desktops/applications/OS; administer IT systems and perform triage for first/second line issues.
- Support Office 365, Intune, and related applications; utilize ITSM/ITIL processes.
- 3 - 5 years IT Service Center experience.
- Advanced knowledge of supporting cloud-based applications; 3 - 5 years User Management, Azure Active Directory; identify password related issues and provide resolution.
- Experience in remote technical support via telephone in a service/call center environment.
- First and second level laptop/desktop/application installation/OS configuration, administration, and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with Office 365, Intune.
- Ability to multitask and handle tickets, chats, and calls; ITSM/ITIL familiarity.

- This role is 100% onsite in Birmingham, AL. There is a second opening as the ideal group consists of one mid-to-senior level technician and two "greener" candidates.

Contract to Hire position based out of Birmingham, AL. - Pay: $25.00 - $27.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on job classification and length of employment.
