Solution Architect

Position Overview

As a Solution Architect in PNC's Lending Tech organization, you will be based at one of the following locations:
Dallas, TX;
Pittsburgh, PA;
Strongsville, OH; or Birmingham, AL. The role focuses on providing architectural oversight and technical leadership across the Credit Card Servicing Applications and Customer Journeys ecosystem, integrating mainframe and distributed platforms, and ensuring alignment with enterprise data strategies.

• Serve as the primary architect and technical lead for the Credit Card Servicing team, participating in journey planning and design.
• Design and implement scalable, integrated solutions across all mnemonics (FDR, CCH, NCS, CSH, CSE, REW, and ATZ).
• Architect data flows and integrations between mainframe systems and distributed platforms.
• Lead integration efforts across distributed Oracle databases (CCH & CSH) and other distributed systems.
• Ensure data interoperability and consistency between legacy and modern platforms.
• Collaborate with engineering, data, and business teams to align system interfaces and data models.
• Drive comprehensive data documentation, lineage tracking, and governance within Alation/BDH.
• Establish and enforce standards for metadata management, data quality, and data governance.
• Provide architectural guidance for new initiatives, enhancements, and modernization efforts.
• Facilitate cross‑team collaboration to ensure efficient execution of integration and data initiatives.
• Identify and promote opportunities to modernize legacy processes and expand distributed capabilities.
• Champion best practices in data architecture, system integration, and performance optimization.

• 8+ years in solution architecture, data architecture, or related roles.
• Strong experience with APIs, Oracle databases in distributed environments.
• Proven expertise in system integration and enterprise architecture design.
• Deep understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data flows.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives and influence stakeholders.

• Experience with mainframe systems and data environments.
• Knowledge of distributed data platforms such as Hadoop ecosystem.
• Experience working with financial or enterprise data repositories (FDR‑like environments).
• Familiarity with CCH/CSH ecosystems or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of BDH (Big Data Hub) environments.
• Strong background in hybrid architecture (mainframe + distributed systems).
• Experience documenting complex data ecosystems and lineage.
