Scrum Master, IT Consultant
Position Overview
As a Scrum Master within PNC’s Retail Tech organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA or Birmingham, AL. You serve as a servant leader who builds trust, fosters collaboration, and adapts easily to a wide range of team personalities and working styles.
Responsibilities- Facilitate team ceremonies with confidence—removing blockers, guiding discussions, and ensuring constructive interaction among all members.
- Act as the team’s coach and cheerleader, supporting continuous improvement, encouraging accountability, and helping members grow in Agile maturity.
- Guide teams in Agile best practice while flexibly applying Scaled Agile concepts such as PI Planning, iteration planning, and confidence voting.
- Manage and maintain team documentation and workflow in Confluence, ensuring clarity, transparency, and alignment across teams.
- Support coordination across multiple squads or release trains, helping the team stay connected to roadmap priorities and dependency management.
- Track and communicate overall team progress providing visibility to stakeholders.
- Serve as a filter to remove impediments to progress as identified by the team.
- Protect the team from outside influences to ensure the team remains focused on Scrum Team priorities.
- Partner with the Product Owner to ensure the backlog items are prioritized based on business value and ready for the team.
- 3+ years of relevant or direct industry experience in an Agile environment.
- Experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies and coaching teams.
- Strong knowledge of Agile Methodology, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), and Confluence.
- Excellent facilitation, conflict management, and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to guide teams with diverse working styles.
- Preferred certifications:
Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), or similar. - Education:
B.A./B.S. or equivalent; a combination of education, certifications, and experience may be considered.
