IT Help Desk Associate

Vaco Birmingham is working with multiple clients on new Help Desk opportunities. These firms vary in industry and offer direct hire and contract to hire opportunities. The target pay rate for all positions is $50-$60k. All positions are on-site in Birmingham.

• Technical Support Experience – At least 2 years of hands‑on experience providing IT support, troubleshooting hardware, software, and basic network issues.
• Knowledge of Operating Systems and Tools – Familiarity with common systems like Windows, macOS, and ticketing systems (e.g., Service Now, Zendesk).
• Customer Service Skills – Strong communication and interpersonal skills to assist users effectively, explain technical issues clearly, and maintain professionalism.
• Problem‑Solving Ability – Proven ability to diagnose issues, prioritize tasks, and resolve technical problems in a timely manner.
• Basic Networking and Security Knowledge – Understanding of fundamental networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN) and basic security practices such as password management and phishing awareness.

Salary range is $50-$60k. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
