Position

Database Administrator III - ENT

Duties
  • Support and administer SQL and No-SQL database engines, including RDBMS and file-based systems. Responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing support of these systems.
  • Manage patching, backups and recovery, data imports/exports, and data integrations with other systems including file loads, direct connections, and API integrations to and from similar systems.
  • Grant and revoke access to database systems. Make recommendations and follow best practices for data management, data access, data recoverability, and high availability.
  • Submit firewall exceptions for access to and from the systems. Monitor activity and identify vulnerabilities. Ensure systems are in compliance and that software components (OS, application, web tier, etc.) are within their supported lifecycle.
  • Interface with internal IT personnel as well as customers outside of IT across the university. Coordinate with stakeholders internal and external to IT for project and maintenance work. Take calls after hours.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems or related field and six years of related experience as database administrator, architect, designer, or developer, including Database Management, SQL, basic networking understanding, SSH, and Database Administrative UI/tools (SQL+, Toad, DBeaver, Management Studio, etc.).
