Senior System Administrator

Sterling Search Partners is helping a growing client with its search for a SR Systems Administrator. Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented System Administrator to support and evolve enterprise IT infrastructure across IT and OT environments. This role will lead the design, implementation, and management of on-premises, hosted, and cloud systems, ensuring secure, reliable operations across a geographically distributed footprint.

The ideal candidate is adaptable, technically strong, and experienced in fast-paced, evolving environments.

• Design, implement, and support enterprise infrastructure including servers, virtualization, identity, and cloud platforms
• Serve as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues, driving troubleshooting and root cause analysis
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and hybrid identity services
• Administer Microsoft Azure (VMs, networking, storage, identity, and security)
• Implement and maintain endpoint management and security policies via Intune
• Support SSO and identity federation (SAML and third‑party integrations)
• Manage virtualization environments (primarily Hyper‑V), backup, and disaster recovery systems
• Partner with network and cybersecurity teams to maintain secure, compliant environments
• Lead infrastructure projects, upgrades, migrations, and M&A system integrations
• Maintain system hardening, patching, monitoring, and compliance standards
• Support OT infrastructure in collaboration with engineering and operations teams
• Develop technical documentation, runbooks, and disaster recovery plans
• Provide on‑call support and mentor junior IT staff

• 4-8 years of experience in system administration
• Strong expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, and core infrastructure services
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 (Entra , Intune, etc.)
• Experience with virtualization platforms (Hyper‑V preferred)
• Knowledge of SSO, identity federation, and security best practices
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
