Sterling Search Partners is helping a growing client with its search for a JR. Database Administrator. Our client is seeking a motivated Junior Database Administrator (Jr. DBA) to support the maintenance, performance, security, and reliability of enterprise database systems that support critical business operations and power generation projects. This role will work closely with senior IT staff, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure data integrity, optimize database performance, and support reporting and application needs across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in administering and supporting SQL Server and other database environments.
  • Monitor database performance, availability, backups, and storage utilization.
  • Perform routine database maintenance, updates, and patching activities.
  • Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Troubleshoot database-related issues and escalete complex problems as needed.
  • Assist with database security administration, user access management, and compliance requirements.
  • Support developers with database deployments, queries, and performance tuning.
  • Create and maintain database documentation, procedures, and standards.
  • Assist with data migrations, integrations, and system upgrades.
  • Generate reports and provide data support for business and project teams.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 0–3 years of database administration, database support, or related IT experience.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, and relational database concepts.
  • Understanding of database backup and recovery processes.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server environments and Microsoft technologies.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
