This position is located at Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Security Operations Division, Cybersecurity Engineering & Operations Branch, responsible for Bureau-Wide asset protection, including Fiscal Agents and Franchise customers. The scope of impact is government-wide, nationally, and internationally and includes information in electronic, print, and other formats.

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year and indicate number of hours worked per week on your résumé.

For the GS-13
, you must have one year (full 52 weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes developing, testing, implementing, securing, and hosting IT resources. Such experience must include ALL of the following:

  • Experience identifying IT systems and security problems to identify weaknesses, develop and evaluate options, and implement solutions
  • Experience administering computer system networks, and designing and evaluating operations in IT Security environments
  • Experience generating reports of IT threats and vulnerabilities and managing systems that provide these reports
  • Experience with networking concepts, configuring security tools, executing scans, evaluating scan results and providing assistance with remediation

In addition to meeting specialized experience, at the GS-13 level, individuals must have experience demonstrating each of the following competencies:
Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Decision Making, Information Management, Interpersonal Skills, Oral Communication, Problem Solving, Teamwork, and Technical Competence.

A work sample may be used to determine if you meet the required proficiency levels. You will receive a sample job task or scenario to complete; or you will provide a writing sample.
