Workstation Technician
Our client is seeking a dedicated Workstation Technician for an onsite contract role in Birmingham, AL. In this hands-on position, you will provide comprehensive support for PC hardware, software, and peripheral devices. You will be responsible for workstation deployments, troubleshooting technical issues, equipment refreshes, inventory management, and supporting a variety of IT projects and special initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, excellent customer service skills, and the capacity to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
Install, configure, relocate, and support PC hardware, software, and peripherals
Complete equipment refreshes, upgrades, and lease return activities
Respond to and resolve service tickets in a timely manner
Troubleshoot workstation, hardware, software, and connectivity issues
Maintain accurate hardware and software inventory records
Assist end users with technology solutions and support needs
Support IT projects and special initiatives as assigned
Associate degree in IT, related technical certification, or equivalent experience
2+ years of PC hardware and software support experience
Experience troubleshooting and repairing desktop and laptop hardware
Working knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office
Strong problem-solving and customer service skills
Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users
Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
