Senior AI Data Engineer Job Birmingham area,Alabama USA,IT/Tech

We are seeking a customer-focused Databricks Solutions Engineer to work directly with business stakeholders to understand their challenges and develop technical solutions that drive meaningful business outcomes. This individual will combine strong hands-on data engineering skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and translate complex business needs into practical technical solutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Databricks, Python, SQL, Git Hub Enterprise, and Databricks Asset Bundles
, along with an interest in leveraging AI and emerging technologies to improve business processes.

Key Responsibilities

Meet directly with customers and business stakeholders to understand their challenges, requirements, and objectives.
Translate business needs into technical solutions and actionable development plans.
Develop project mockups, prototypes, and proofs of concept (POCs) in an Agile environment.
Identify opportunities to leverage AI and data-driven technologies to improve business processes and outcomes.
Design, develop, and support solutions using Databricks, Python, and SQL
.
Utilize Git Hub Enterprise and Databricks Asset Bundles to support development, version control, deployment, and release workflows.
Collaborate with technical and business teams to gather feedback and refine solutions.
Clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Support the evaluation, adoption, and implementation of new technologies and solutions.

Required Qualifications

Strong hands-on experience with Databricks
.
Proficiency in Python and SQL
.
Experience with Git Hub Enterprise and modern development and deployment workflows.
Experience with Databricks Asset Bundles
.
Background in engineering, data engineering, analytics, or a related technical discipline.
Experience developing mockups, prototypes, and proofs of concept
.
Strong customer-facing and communication skills.
Ability to understand complex business challenges and translate them into technical solutions.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience leveraging AI, Generative AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics to solve business problems.
Experience working in the utilities, energy, or power industry
.
Experience working in an Agile development environment.
Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and modern Dev Ops practices
