About the Role:
The Implementation Project Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the successful deployment and integration of payroll software solutions for clients across various industries. This position focuses on managing the end-to-end implementation process, from initial client onboarding and requirements gathering to configuration, testing, and final delivery. The Project Manager collaborates closely with clients, and technical teams to tailor solutions that meet specific business needs while adhering to timelines and quality standards.
By providing expert guidance and troubleshooting throughout the implementation lifecycle, the role ensures a smooth transition and maximizes client satisfaction. Ultimately, the Implementation Project Manager drives the adoption and effective use of the product, contributing to long-term client success and retention.
- 5+ years project management experience.
- At least 2 years of PM experience managing multiple short duration projects simultaneously.
- Experience in technology, Payroll or Human Resource projects
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and internal teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with CRM, ERP, or Payroll platform implementations.
- Project management certification such as PMP or Agile Scrum Master.
- Experience managing technical projects including integrations, Interfaces, APIs, & data transformation
- Experience working with Project Management tools (MS Project, Asana, Jyra, etc...)
- Lead the planning and execution of client implementation projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements and company standards.
- Conduct detailed needs assessments and gather technical and business requirements from clients to inform solution configuration.
- Configure and customize software applications to meet client specifications, including data migration and system integration tasks.
- Provide training and support to clients during and after implementation to facilitate user adoption and address any issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as sales, product development, and customer support to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks or obstacles, and proactively implement solutions to keep implementations on track.
- Provide status reporting, meeting notes, & update project tracking.
- Document implementation processes, client interactions, and technical configurations for future reference and continuous improvement.
The Implementation Project Manager utilizes strong analytical and problem-solving skills daily to assess client needs and configure software solutions accordingly. Effective communication skills are essential for translating technical concepts into clear guidance for clients and collaborating with internal teams. Project management skills enable the Project Manager to organize tasks, manage timelines, and coordinate resources to ensure successful implementations. Technical skills, including familiarity with integration tools and data migration, support the customization and seamless deployment of software products.
Additionally, adaptability and customer service skills help the Project Manager respond to evolving client requirements and foster positive relationships throughout the implementation process.
