Summary
The Interpreter serves as a frontline provider of Spanish interpretation and translation services for patients and families with limited English proficiency across Children’s of Alabama. You support communication during scheduled, unscheduled, and urgent encounters. You act as the voice for both caregivers and staff while remaining impartial and objective. You follow all Language Services policies and procedures.
ScheduleFull‑time, Day Shift, Monday‑Friday 8:00‑4/30 pm (8‑hour shifts).
Responsibilities- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Certified Medical Interpreter.
- High School Diploma Graduate or Equivalent.
- 1 Year job experience as Staff Level with specialization in the field of Interpreter.
The Language Services Department ensures that patients and families with limited English proficiency or who are Deaf or hard of hearing receive clear, compassionate, and equitable communication throughout their care experience.
