Contract Period: Starting ASAP through the end of this school year and continuing the 2024/2025 school year
Hours/week: 40
Caseload details: 5th grade student, would be responsible for helping teachASL (along with DHH teacher) and with regular 1:1 duties
Job Description: Soliant is seeking a dedicated Sign Language Interpreter for a contract position within a school-based setting in Huntsville, AL. Responsibilities:
- Provide interpretation services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in educational settings
- Facilitate munication between students, teachers, and staff
- Ensure accurate interpretation of classroom instruction, discussions, and school-related activities
Requirements:
- Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (CI or CT)
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Experience working with students in an educational environment preferred
- Ability to adapt interpretation style to meet the needs of diverse learners
State-Specific Requirements:
- Alabama Educational Interpreter License preferred
