We are seeking a seasoned Medical Malpractice Defense Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in a fast-paced environment, providing legal representation to healthcare professionals and institutions facing medical malpractice claims. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation, civil litigation, and hybrid legal fields. This role requires a minimum of 5+ years of experience in the field of medical malpractice defense.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide comprehensive legal defense to healthcare professionals and institutions facing allegations of medical malpractice.
2. Manage all phases of litigation, including case investigation, pleadings, discovery, pre-trial, trial, settlement, and appeal.
3. Develop and implement defense strategies, considering the facts of the case, applicable laws, and the client's interests.
4. Conduct thorough legal research to stay abreast of developments in medical malpractice law and related fields.
5. Collaborate with medical experts to understand the intricacies of the case and prepare a robust defense.
6. Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel, balancing the client's interests with the potential risks and costs of trial.
7. Maintain clear and timely communication with clients, providing them with updates on their case and explaining complex legal concepts in an understandable way.
8. Maintain strict adherence to ethical standards and client confidentiality rules.
9. Participate in the development of firm policies and legal strategies.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
2. Active member of the state bar in good standing.
3. 5+ years of experience in medical malpractice defense, with a proven track record of successful representation.
4. Proficiency in litigation, civil litigation, and hybrid legal fields.
5. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, able to handle complex cases with precision and creativity.
6. Strong negotiation skills, with a knack for achieving favorable settlements for clients.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to explain complex legal concepts in an understandable way.
8. High level of integrity and professional ethics.
9. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
10. Strong interpersonal skills, able to build strong relationships with clients and work effectively within a team.
11. Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
