Senior Director, Logistics

Responsibilities

• Responsible for leading and optimizing all transportation, logistics, scheduling, and distribution activities across multiple manufacturing facilities and distribution centers.
• Provides strategic leadership to a team of three Regional Logistics Managers.
• Accountable for delivering best‑in‑class performance in cost, service, safety, and shipment execution.
• Works closely with Sales, Operations, Warehouse, Customer Service, and Supply Chain teams to ensure customer commitments are achieved.
• Drives continuous improvement initiatives, network optimization, carrier strategy, and operational excellence across the organization.
• Creates and maintains departmental reporting including freight budgets, monthly and quarterly KPIs, carrier performance scorecards, and ad hoc reporting/analysis.
• Develops reports for other Logistics Managers to facilitate constant access to freight costs and KPIs.
• Coordinates with Logistics Managers and Director to ensure all carrier strategies are executed at the Logistics Dispatcher level.
• Ensures carrier compliance with all customer service requirements and standardizes all internal operating procedures.
• Leads all new acquisition integration for Logistics, including carrier integration to Zekelman standards, contracts, rate negotiations, and training for all systems.
• Travels within the US and Canada as required.

• Degree or Diploma from an accredited post‑secondary school.
• Previous experience in Logistics preferred.
• Previous work with a large flatbed shipper preferred.
• Very detail‑oriented.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and multitasking capabilities.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced and highly stressful environment at times.
• Previous experience with a Transportation Management System is a bonus.
• Ability to work within a team and with minimal supervision.
• Ability to travel when required for training purposes.
