Pay range: $126,470 - $205,515 / year

Job DescriptionTo provide comprehensive leadership and management of all Supply Chain Materials Management and Logistics functions in support of UAB Medicine and Health System activities. To assure alignment with UAB Medicine and Health System initiatives and oversee Materials Management operations including receiving, logistics, materials distribution, linen management, supply inventory management, equipment management, purchase services, and mailroom and courier services. This position is responsible for coordinating the deployment of efforts related to operational excellence, utilization, conversions, standardization of supplies, services, and equipment, as well as data‑driven decision making, regulatory compliance (CMS, Joint Commission, AHCA, FDA, etc.)
and providing proactive customer solutions.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides oversight for Materials Management daily operations and initiatives.
- Attracts, retains and develops leaders to ensure continuous operational capability across supply chain.
- Develops and implements processes that will streamline operations and create savings for the organization.
- Analyzes operations, service levels, utilization, and expenses using data‑driven decision making to support operational excellence and reduce expenses.
- Ensures regulatory compliance in accordance with all applicable healthcare agencies, standards, and requirements related to supply chain operations.
- Oversees the effective use of ERP systems and related supply chain technologies to support planning, reporting, analytics, and process improvement.
- Manages budgets and budgeting activities and presents monthly variances, trends, and recommendations.
- Partners proactively with internal customers to provide solutions that support service delivery, efficiency, and continuity of operations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Master's degree in Business Management, Healthcare or a related field and ten (10) years of supply chain experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Healthcare supply chain experience preferred.
