Vice President of Safety

J & M Tank Lines is on the hunt for a strategic, data-driven Vice President of Safety to lead risk management and safety compliance across our operating companies. This executive role owns the company wide safety strategy, ensuring the safe transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous materials while driving continuous improvement through data, technology, and strong leadership.

• Serve as executive owner of safety and compliance for tank, bulk dry & liquid, and hazmat operations
• Ensure full compliance with FMCSA, PHMSA, OSHA, and EPA regulations
• Lead
  
  Risk management:
  
  accident investigations, claims management, and civil litigation support
• Own CSA performance and drive measurable improvement
• Partner with CFO and brokers on insurance strategy and risk mitigation
• Leverage systems such as Samsara, Geotab, Netradyne, Tenstreet, TMW, Vigillo, and Pre Pass to identify and reduce risk
• Lead and develop a multi-level safety team
• Partner with operations and sales to support customer safety profiles (Avetta, etc.)
• Champion driver engagement, including Million Mile programs and ongoing training

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Certified Director of Safety (CDS) designation
• 10+ years in transportation, logistics, or risk management
• 5+ years in senior leadership
• Deep knowledge of DOT, OSHA, EPA and hazardous materials regulations
• Strong executive communication and leadership skills
