Summary
District Manager Retail – Responsible for overall sales execution of business objectives within the assigned territory. Supports client programs by managing sales execution teams dedicated to in-store programs and drives execution results through hands‑on management of teams, objectives, training and coordination with peer management and support teams.
Responsibilities- Field coach all designated associates in the district.
- Maximize execution through results management using team calls, one‑on‑one coaching, phone/email/in‑person training supported by a peer trainer.
- Meet each client’s execution expectations, providing reporting to impacted associates.
- Effectively schedule, manage and execute all client programs.
- Hire, schedule, train personnel and provide succession planning.
- Actively manage flawless execution with proactive hiring, training, scheduling, supervision and in‑store oversight.
- Project a positive image representing the company to clients and community.
- Promote client priorities in‑store.
- Deliver team training content in settings from 1:1 to large group presentations.
- Conduct coaching sessions with associates to discuss strategies for ongoing improvement.
- Communicate with support team to address issues, determining the appropriate mode of communication.
- Utilize reporting to review sales team results, monitor un‑staffed locations and assess trends.
- Train associates in store relationship building, product knowledge and selling skills.
- Recruit, interview, hire and schedule direct reports.
- Conduct employee evaluations and performance reviews.
- Identify succession candidates for future business growth.
Education: Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience (Bachelor’s Degree preferred).
Experience: 2‑4 years in retail management, including hiring, managing part‑time employees, demonstration, marketing, results reporting, inventory, merchandising and training.
Skills & Abilities:
- Direct, lead, coach and develop people.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer skills:
Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook and web browsers. - Ability to complete multiple duties accurately, shifting between tasks with interruptions.
- Well‑organized, detail‑oriented and able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Skill in supervising, delegating, training and evaluating performance.
- Ability to work effectively with management.
Essential functions include working primarily in an office and spending 66%+ of the workday in activities such as lifting or pushing up to 50 lbs, standing for long periods, handling or cooking food for demonstration, operating in extremely cold conditions, and traveling and driving up to 60% of the time.
