DISTRICT MANAGER JOB SUMMARY
The District Manager (DM) is a key member of the leadership team and is directly accountable for the overall performance and success of the restaurants within their assigned district. This role leads and develops General Managers while fostering an unbeatable work culture that drives engagement, retention, and results.
The District Manager typically oversees 6–8 Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) locations and reports directly to the Director of Operations, providing operational and leadership support as needed.
The position includes, but is not limited to, the following essential job responsibilities:
DISTRICT MANAGER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Talent Management- Recruit, hire, train, coach, and develop high-performing General Managers.
- Partner with General Managers to ensure restaurants are properly staffed.
- Identify high‑potential talent, build leadership pipelines, and conduct ongoing succession planning.
- Execute brand training programs and implement additional development plans as needed.
- Foster an engaging, high‑performance culture that increases retention and reduces turnover.
- Review financial reports to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Partner with General Managers to drive sales growth, cost control, and profitability.
- Ensure district and restaurant‑level financial targets are met or exceeded.
- Validate and maintain the accuracy and integrity of restaurant data, including research and reconciliations.
- Conduct cash handling and inventory audits as required.
- Conduct comprehensive restaurant visits weekly (bi‑weekly at minimum), identify operational gaps, and drive timely corrective action.
- Lead from the front by working alongside restaurant teams or operating shifts when needed.
- Coach management teams on effective, efficient operational processes.
- Ensure brand standards are consistently met or exceeded across all locations.
- Achieve 95% or higher Health Department ratings and successful brand evaluations by maintaining trained, engaged management teams.
- Establish stretch goals for guest satisfaction and speed of service, and coach teams to achieve them.
- Monitor guest feedback and partner with restaurant leaders to resolve concerns quickly and effectively.
- Conduct guest‑focused restaurant visits, providing both recognition and constructive coaching.
- Stay current on brand initiatives and requirements and ensure consistent execution across the district.
- Cascade information through weekly conference calls and in‑person meetings as appropriate.
- Complete and ensure General Managers complete all required administrative and operational tasks accurately and on time.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and company requirements.
- Participate in leadership meetings and calls as required.
- 5+ years of multi‑unit Quick Service Restaurant management experience
- Experience managing $1M+ units with drive‑thru operations
- Valid state driver’s license
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Serv Safe® Manager and Proctor certification preferred
- Associate degree in business, management, or a related field preferred
- Demonstrates integrity and accountability
- Sound decision‑maker with strong judgment
- Takes initiative; resourceful, creative, and solutions‑oriented
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; builds strong relationships to drive results
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within cross‑functional teams
