Job Responsibilities

The Press Production Assistant Manager is responsible for all employee’s safety and well-being, overall development and supervision of Supervisors and employees, health and safety, quality, customer cost, productivity, and ergonomic issues, using the company policies and procedures and the Magna Employee’s Charter as a guideline. He/She will provide direction to the Press Supervisors in the Press department, ensuring that the Customer, People, and Investor goals are balanced and met.

  • Follow and enforce all plant safety rules and policies.
  • Follow and support the Magna’s operating principles, including:
    Magna Employee Charter – operating under its principles by treating all team members equally, fairly and with dignity and respect;
    Abide by Kamtek policies and procedures as described in the most current version of the Employee Handbook;
    Open Door Policy – solve issues with two-way, open and friendly communication;

    Safety First – obey the plant’s safety rules and procedures by wearing PPE at all times and immediately addressing all safety concerns, promoting an environment where zero injuries are the expected standard;

    Core values – treat all team members equally, fairly, with dignity and respect without favoritism in accordance with company values; attend and participate in team, department, plant‑wide and any other meetings as required; conduct all activities in a professional manner and with a positive attitude with an emphasis on personal responsibility.
  • Responsible to ensure employees are properly trained and adhering to such policies, enforcing disciplinary actions when safety infractions occur, and conduct Team Safety Talks as required.
  • Manage the production operation functions of the plant.
  • Assess and assist in upgrading the supervisory and operator’s talent and skills bases to achieve growth and meet market needs such as reduced cost, efficient production cycle times, uptimes, and reliable delivery.
  • Research, plan, target and control reductions in costs of operations and achieve yearly financial objectives.
  • Prepare, control and forecast departmental budget.
  • Ensure that operating plans and methods achieve maximum plant performance and reliability while maintaining EH&S compliance requirements.
  • Promote and practice “safety first” by immediately addressing any hazards, defective equipment or unsafe conditions within the manufacturing floor and workstations, correcting these issues through training or progressive discipline as appropriate.
  • Ensure team members attend daily shift communications and weekly safety trainings so that they may receive all relevant safety training and communication in a timely manner.
  • Participate in accident and incident investigations and ensure that all accidents and incidents that occur have completed investigations documented and turned in to the health and safety team within 24 hours of the incident.
  • Coordinate plant PM schedules with the maintenance department to ensure equipment is maintained.
  • Lead the team in meeting or exceeding quality goals and objectives.
  • Set manning requirements and schedules to meet customer demands.
  • Participate in formulating and administering company policies, directing, and coordinating all department activities to develop and implement long‑range goals and objectives to meet business and profitability growth objectives.
  • Manage policy deployment in Lean Manufacturing techniques, quality, cost reduction, complete and on‑time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, visual controls, and plant performance measures.
  • Review operational goals and identify gaps, implementing corrective actions.
  • Oversee key projects, processes and performance reports, data and analysis related to production.
  • Review with staff processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations…
