2nd Shift Finishing Operator
There is a present need for a 2nd Shift Finishing Operator who can safely and efficiently operate finishing equipment in production. The current position is in our Screen division, but the candidate will be cross-trained on multiple processes within the company. The candidate must have a commitment to quality, a sense of urgency, and a purpose of always exceeding customer expectations.
Summary:
Responsible for setting up and operating finishing equipment, doing handwork, such as bagging and packaging, as well as inspecting small items as a means of quality control. Finishing equipment includes laminating, rewinding, cutting, and counting production, and the position will be operating production equipment.
Fundamental Responsibilities:
- Receive production order and job assignments from Lead and respond appropriately.
- Read and understand job ticket to accurately define job requirements.
- Operate finishing equipment safely and efficiently producing quality product.
- Inspection of product produced to job specifications and quality standards.
- Packaging of finished product for shipment to customer or warehouse.
- Completes production records as required by company guidelines.
- Ensures cleanliness of work area.
- Project positive and professional behavior/attitude.
- Follow administrative procedures established for inter-departmental interaction.
- Additional tasks/duties/special projects may be assigned, as necessary, including cross-department assignments.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Experience operating machinery.
- Works well with hands, with good fine-motor skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Work independently with little supervision.
- Multitask – ability to handle multiple tasks in fast paced environment.
- Basic computer skills needed.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Minimum 1 years of manufacturing experience.
- Screen, Flexo, Digital or Offset printing experience a plus.
Mathematical
Skills:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to regularly lift/move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
- Bending and twisting for 8 hours or more.
- Standing and walking for 8 hours or more.
- Good color perception required.
