Production Manager, Manufacturing & Industrial Operations

SummaryThe Operations Supervisor is responsible for carrying out processes that facilitate manufacturing excellence through demonstrated leadership skills and a track record of continuous improvement in all manufacturing core competencies including safety, quality, growth, and productivity. This position will involve providing guidance to both skilled and unskilled labor forces, detailed record keeping, analyzing data/information, having the ability to work independently or in a team environment, public speaking, critical thinking, and using good judgment in decision making.
EssentialFunctions/Duties
- Ensure that all employees observe and maintain a safe working environment.
- Support the vision and strategy for the plant as outlined by Operations Manager.
- Lead the team member in supporting plant metrics that enable the business unit to efficiently monitor progress leading to the attainment of site objectives and a continuous improvement culture.
- Be present on plant floor in order to provide direct supervision of tasks assigned by Ops Manager.
- Maintain positive relations within all levels of the organization.
- Communicate, present facts and provide recommendations effectively in oral and written form.
- Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, adapt to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of service and response.
- Work effectively with direct supervision.
- Continuously focus on process improvement and proactively anticipate needs and present solutions.
- Maintain a high degree of professionalism while under pressure and in the face of adversity.
- Work under critical deadlines and heavy workloads to support the critical functions of the company.
- Prioritize and work with accuracy under stress.
- Must have a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook applications.
This is largely a physically active role including walking long distances (over uneven surfaces) to/within our production facility, lifting 50lbs or more, and standing for long periods. Position also requires bending, stooping, squatting or standing as necessary. Cognitive abilities required include deductive reasoning, information ordering, oral comprehension, oral expression, problem sensitivity, written comprehension, and written expression.
Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Evening and weekend work will be required as job duties demand.
RequiredEducation and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience in fasteners or steel products.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001.
Education and Experience
- B.S. degree is preferred but a combination of higher education and experience will be considered in lieu of a 4-year degree.
- Bilingual English/Spanish language skills is a plus.
