Utz Quality Foods is looking to grow our loyal, career driven, and customer focused team, and are currently recruiting for a Relief Fryer/Peeler Operator to join our team of manufacturing professionals in Hanover, PA on our new Weekend Days Shift.
As a Relief Fryer/Peeler Operator this candidate will be responsible for removing waste from the conveyor belt that holds peeled potatoes and will also cut oversized potatoes and spots from all potatoes. This position works Friday to Sunday 5:55 AM-5:55 PM.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare fryer and associated components for startup.
- Monitor equipment performance and product quality throughout production.
- Maintain proper output and quality levels; report any unusual product rejections to the supervisor.
- Perform daily equipment shutdown and cleaning duties.
- Keep accurate, complete, and legible operation records and log sheets.
- Conduct weekly sanitation procedures for fryer and related equipment.
- Change and set machine blades as needed.
- Serve as a peeler/fryer operator when cross‑training other team members.
- Follow all safety rules and work safely at all times.
- Report any unsafe equipment or practices to the supervisor.
Work proactively as part of a cross‑functional team. - Adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Requires knowledge of production flow, operating procedures, and sanitation procedures.
- Some knowledge of machinery is preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Constant attention to flow of potatoes to avoid slowing production.
- Able to work in a warm to hot work environment.
- Able to pay great attention to detail.
- Requires own reliable transportation to the worksite.
- Requires commitment to the 3 day – 12 hour work schedule.
