Maintenance Site Manager

Located at the site, the Maintenance Site Manager is responsible for implementing all activities associated with operations including packaging, logistics, janitorial, and security. This role typically employs up to 40 employees in accordance with the established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements of the company. The manager possesses a working knowledge of a general manufacturing/production environment to include associated equipment and general shipping/receiving functions.

The manager directly supervises employees and typically requires 7-10 years of related experience.

Skills and qualifications include:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 10-12 years of direct related job experience with certifications/qualifications achieved through educational institutions and technical programs
  • 3-5 years of experience with direct supervision of employees within the related job disciplines working in a fast-paced environment
  • General computer skills (i.e., email, WORD, Excel programs), good verbal communications skills, including phone, radio, and plant intercom systems
  • Capable of planning & scheduling related work activities

The purpose of the Operations Site Manager assignment is to ensure all employees follow health, safety, environmental, and operational procedures of their assigned tasks including but are not limited to:

  • Accomplishing manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
  • Maintaining staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees, developing personal growth opportunities
  • Greeting employees daily at the beginning and/or end of shift
  • Reviewing all daily time sheets, and gate log sign-in/out sheets for completeness/accuracy. Communicating with B&R A/F for any discrepancies
  • Establishing daily/morning employee safety huddles (takes place directly after the 7:00am daily production meeting at a designated location)
  • Planning/scheduling for the B&R monthly mass safety meeting
  • Participating in B&R monthly RSLT meeting (conference call), and the B&R monthly focus meeting (conference call)
  • Maintaining workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments
  • Conducting B&R daily/weekly safety audits observing work activity to ensure operational discipline is being upheld, any work permits are in place to include confined space entry permits, LTO, and that supporting TSTI/JSA is in place, and being followed
  • When asked, participating in client daily/weekly safety audits
  • Attending/participating in daily client production meetings
  • Working closely with the client production department to support scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries
  • Maintaining quality service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards
  • Engaging with production personnel to ensure operation of equipment is performing to required standards
