Machine Operator 2nd shift

Operate and maintain manufacturing equipment at a standard that meets or exceeds all internal and external customer requirements. Work in a manufacturing environment following appropriate policies and procedures to ensure successful execution of position responsibilities.

• Operate filling and/or packaging equipment; complete daily and weekly P.M.s, adjust and align all primary functions of the machinery; perform minor mechanical repairs and replace certain defective parts.
• Demonstrate thorough understanding of filler and packing functions; troubleshoot issues and make necessary adjustments in the HMI.
• Maintain daily production and quality records; operate equipment safely and keep work area clean.
• Assist in training production assistants; assure quality parameters are adhered to; follow GMPs and safety rules; train and evaluate trainees.
• Install and maintain information in the product library.
• Perform sanitation of filling line equipment including operating C.I.P. circuits and mixing chemicals in correct proportions following safety requirements; wear required PPE.
• Follow all food safety policies, procedures and regulatory criteria including SQF code, GMPs, FSMA and associated preventive controls.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of filling and packaging equipment.
• Good mechanical ability, including diagnosing and resolving mechanical abnormalities and setting up and maintaining machinery with routine adjustments.

All jobs require sufficient physical strength and dexterity to perform the required tasks: intermittent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Typical shifts are 8-12 hours per day. Additional unscheduled time after hours and on weekends may also be required. Employees must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by Company policy and/or legal requirements. In addition, certain jobs may require employees to:

• Work outside and/or in adverse temperatures which could include extreme heat, cold, and humidity;
• Be exposed to vibrations, chemicals used in operations, fumes and food allergens (may include soy, dairy and other allergens);
• Be required to work in confined and dark spaces, and at heights in excess of 18 feet.
