Overview
A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a Process Engineering Technician. Position type:
Full Time/ Contract Duration: 12 Months
Location:
Bessemer, AL USA 35020.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to eliminate waste, improve efficiency, and elevate plant performance.
- Champion and sustain 5S workplace organization practices, creating a clean, safe, and highly efficient production environment.
- Conduct time studies, capacity evaluations, and bottleneck analyses to identify opportunities for productivity gains and process enhancements.
- Utilize data and root‑cause analysis techniques to solve challenges and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Help design and optimize manufacturing layouts that improve workflow, maximize space utilization, and support future growth.
- Support automation initiatives and equipment integration to enhance productivity and operational reliability.
- Create manufacturing system tools such as process maps, work instructions, ergonomic assessments, and Yamazumi analyses to support standardized operations.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that ensure consistency, quality, and operational excellence across all production activities.
- Prepare and manage RFQs and RFPs for new equipment, tooling, and manufacturing systems.
- Coordinate equipment procurement, installation, and commissioning activities while working closely with vendors and suppliers.
- Lead multiple improvement and equipment‑related projects simultaneously, ensuring milestones, budgets, and technical requirements are met.
- Partner with Production, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Safety, and Innovation teams to deliver integrated manufacturing solutions.
- Contribute to innovation‑focused initiatives involving new products, processes, workflows, and manufacturing technologies.
- Support projects from concept through fabrication, implementation, and production launch.

What Makes You Successful- Strong knowledge of manufacturing, industrial engineering, or mechanical systems with a passion for process optimization.
- Hands‑on experience applying Lean principles, value stream mapping, waste elimination, and continuous flow concepts.
- Strong analytical capabilities and a data‑driven approach to identifying and implementing improvements.
- The ability to transform complex information into clear, actionable solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- A proactive mindset, high attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering results.
- 1‑3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, operations improvement, or a related field.
- Experience successfully delivering Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma projects with measurable improvements in productivity, quality, or cost.
- Exposure to equipment installation, manufacturing process development, and facility optimization.
- Knowledge of fabrication processes such as welding, cutting, roll forming, and assembly operations is a plus.
- Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD preferred) for layouts and equipment planning is highly desirable.
- Understanding of workplace safety principles and their integration into process design.
- Experience supporting innovation, startup, scale‑up, or rapid‑growth manufacturing environments.
- Ability to operate effectively amid changing priorities, evolving requirements, and fast decision‑making cycles.
- Enthusiasm for learning new technologies, processes, and methodologies.
- A collaborative approach to problem‑solving and knowledge sharing.
- Comfortable using hand and power tools, including screwdrivers, saws, and skill saws.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to be actively involved on the manufacturing floor and support implementation activities directly.
