Asphalt Plant Laborer

The Asphalt Plant Laborer performs physical labor tasks at the asphalt plant, handling materials and supplies, operating hand and power tools, and keeping plant equipment and work areas clean and organized. This role supports plant maintenance and production activities and must be able to perform assigned duties in extreme weather conditions.

• General Labor Support
  - Perform physical labor tasks at the asphalt plant in support of plant and production operations.
• Material Handling
  - Handle, load, and move raw materials, supplies, and finished product as directed.
• Plant & Equipment Cleanup
  - Clean plant equipment, work areas, and facilities, and clean up spilled materials, debris, and waste.
• Tool & Equipment Use
  - Operate hand and power tools as directed to support plant maintenance and production tasks.
• Maintenance Assistance
  - Assist maintenance personnel with routine upkeep of plant equipment and machinery.
• Safety & Environmental Compliance
  - Follow all company safety policies and procedures, and applicable environmental and safety regulations.
• Traffic & Truck Support
  - Assist with directing trucks and other traffic within the plant yard as needed.
• Weather Adaptability
  - Perform assigned duties in extreme weather conditions, including heat, cold, and precipitation.
• General Support
  - Perform other duties as assigned that are necessary to support plant operations.

• Asphalt or construction labor experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to safely and effectively operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and plant safety procedures.
• High school diploma or GED helpful but not required.

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in and around an active asphalt plant, and is exposed to hot-mix asphalt (temperatures exceeding 250°F), moving mechanical parts, dust, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration. The employee works in outside weather conditions and is exposed to heat, humidity, and other varying weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
